Outrageous statements aren’t news.

Exactly. It's the same gibberish over and over again. You could be watching a rally from 2016.
@cnnbrk, I will not watch unless official (scripted) announcement from 45 or WH . Forget airing these abominations and use clips for your discussions and analysis. - 1 more reply

Only supporters want to watch for entertainment value. There is zero value in watching or listening to the vulgar, juvenile, petty and small trump.

Watching DT makes a person less human

If he actually says something newsworthy you can air it but airing a full live rally makes you complicit in promoting him, so don’t call it news.

The news is supposed to be informative, not entertainment.

So play clips after the event, provide facts to refute lies, cover other pols event. If it's about ad money, say so. If it's about newsworthy event, show the *news*. But quit justifying wall to wall coverage that is unequal, unfair & benefits only Trump.

Somebody should invent some sort of machine where you can record an event and than take the smaller more newsworthy bits and play them instead of the whole thing. That would be awesome.

Just show the parts where he speaks the truth while the lies are scrolling along the bottom of the screen.

He makes the outrageous statements because it gets him attention. They're feeding the monster.

There’s a bias against factual, thoughtful discourse. Reporters think it’s boring or elitist. It’s on you for deciding that Trump’s sewage is more newsworthy. You all decide what the people get for “news”, and you’ve decided internally that we want this sensational bs.

MSM is a tool for Trump propaganda. This is exactly the opposite of why the Constitution protects free speech and a free press. Wake up and do the job you've been entrusted to carry out by the Founding Fathers.

If people watch for entertainment, is it news or is it reality tv? News organizations should be able to discern between the two and air appropriately. It doesn’t need to be shown live. It can wait after a review for substance.

The problem is it's covered live, then each outrageous lie is rehashed for at least 3 days. I don't mind the press covering a major policy speech this way, but they shouldn't do it for a campaign rally.

1. Him demonstrating his racism in public is hardly "news" at this point. 2. Those who want to watch for entertainment value can go in person or tune in to the full thing on CSPAN (or State Television, i.e., Fox). Has no bearing on other networks' coverage.
-
3. No, it's really not a hard question.

What news did he make? Serious question. What news did he make?
