with all the talk about the @NRA, this issue seems to be fading without a response from the NRA so far: FBI investigating whether Russian money went to NRA to help Trumphttp://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-world/national/article195231139.html …

I’m hoping Mueller will not let it go. Does anyone know if “non profit NRA” has to show their funding?

Yup. To be clear, I think this is going to blow up. The fact that the NRA has never denied Russian money is... conspicuous. I am confident Mueller's team will get there: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2018-02-07/the-nra-should-disclose-any-russian-ties … I think public absence reflects lack of NRA leaks. Mueller's team never leaks.

Why can't the NRA receive money from foreign nationals or Governments? Hillary's non-profit organizations have accepted money from China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, etc.

The Clinton Foundation didn't run a $70 million plus independent expenditure in the 2016 cycle. The NRA did. Foreign money for non-electoral purposes is often legal.

In the past 15 years, the NRA has spent a nearly $132 million on ads supporting or opposing presidential or congressional candidates. Your claim is that they spent more than half of that in one year?

Yes that is true and there were reportedly large donations from Russian oligarchs to the NRA ($10s of millions) near in time to the NRA donations to Trump (ie the NRA was potentially money laundering)

No law forbids the NRA from receiving money from anyone. They can spend money in political campaigns. Receiving money from the Russians and spending money in political campaigns doesn't prove that the NRA was paid by the Russian Gov. to support a particular politician.

I trust Mueller will bring that along nicely.
