Still no notation (that I can find) on Supreme Court docket that the Pa congressional partisan gerrymandering emergency motion has been filed with Justice Alito....https://twitter.com/rickhasen/status/966757073059856384 …

So it sure looks like we are going into the weekend without
#SCOTUS acknowledging receipt of emergency stay application for Pa Republicans in congressional gerrymandering case. And therefore no order for a response (yet) from Justice Alito...and no ruling#papoliticsShow this threadThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Not normally a
#SCOTUS reporter, but press office told me item might not be docketed until Monday. -
It’s possible the paper copy was delivered in a sealed envelope, which can delay docketing for about four business days b-c of security protocols.
-
we did not see this delay with the same plaintiffs last time they filed w Justice Alito
-
True. (Though there are horror stories of people in the chain of delivery sealing envelopes.)
-
Practically speaking, what is the potential impact? Does Justice Alito have it if the envelope was sealed?
-
The efiling manual would indicate no, but I can’t see any reason he wouldn’t have the efiling it if he wanted to see it. But I do agree with Rick that a sealed-envelope issue probably isn’t the reason, given the prompt docketing last time.
