I was kind of curious why you thought they would need a response if a justice was going to dissent from a denial of the stay. Seems more likely for a dissent from a stay, no? All tea leaf reading though. Find out soon enough.
My baseline thinking is that this is such a longshot a stay is unlikely. Odd to grant the stay without giving other side chance to respond; odd to write a dissent from the denial of a stay without giving other side chance. And all is SO late now on petitioners' own timeline
