First, I didn't offer any opinions to @KarenSloanNLJ about the Emoluments Clause debate on Twitter. I don't think Karen mischaracterized my remarks to her, and I don't read the article that way, but a few folks have raised the Q w/ me, so I wanted to clarify 1/x
I raised emoluments with Karen and think a lot of people weighed in on legal debate without knowing enough. That's why I haven't commented on legal issue.
