Here's the relevant Alabama statute: voters who are inactive have to reidentify and fill out a new form: http://alisondb.legislature.state.al.us/alison/codeofalabama/1975/17-4-9.htm … More disturbing (if true from anecdotal reports) is that the voter needs to name county of brith. Sounds a lot like the OLD Alabamahttps://twitter.com/pemalevy/status/940644900529459206 …

Does that seem legal? Having to completely fill out a separate form if inactive?

also concerning that, at least based on reports, voters are inactive despite voting in immediately previous elections when the AL statute only permits registrar to make inactive a voter that "fails to vote for four years in his or her county". Unless I'm missing something?

Per your comment, "If voters were put on inactive list but have voted more recently that," etc. . . . saw a tweet about inactive status now based on whether voter replied to a mailer. Baffled. Will RT & bring to your attention

Confused by this. Says put on the inactive list if you don't vote. This woman says she was a frequent voter.

This is so eerily reminiscent of Nov. 2016 when I was a poll judge. Folks that have always voted in same location no longer can... voting machines temporarily down.. same playbook different day. Will it be the same outcome??

Your county of brith can be different from your county of birth so long as it is eight days later.

not to blame the victim so to speak but why don't people make sure they are properly registered to vote well before election day? avoid these issues and the possibility that they can't vote or vote doesn't count.
