The federal judge I clerked for on the Ninth Circuit asked the women clerks but not the men to do the typing when his assistant went to lunch. Lifetime appointments often lead to abuses of power.
-
Um...sorry, but is asking a clerk to type really abuse of power? It’s certainly chauvinism to ask women but not men to do it, but are you suggesting typing was beneath you? Because that’s gross.
-
Assuming they are hired for the same position/title, the tasks should be the same, correct?
-
Not suggesting typing is beneath me by any means. I’ve had jobs as a ranch hand, digging ditches, waiting tables, etc. But there was an entire context that can’t be explained in a tweet. My female co-clerk quit early after talking to EEOC.
-
And I only feel free to talk about it now because he’s dead.

That article horribly minimizes the accounts of these women. And that response is something.

Separate and apart from whether there are more complaints - and this quote leads one to believe there will be - this is a HORRIBLE statement from a judge. It has already created an appealable issue for any discrimination litigant who ends up in front of a panel with him.

He will be pressured to resign so he can be replaced by a James Okeefe type - Republican, & not mature enough to be trusted to tie his own shoelaces. Long before we lost every branch of government to right wing extremists, we lost our souls to misogynists. They *all* need to go.

This kind of "low level" harassment is so common. Every woman knows at least one guy, if not countless over the years, who can't stop talking about sex ad nauseam. They manage to interject something sexual into most everything. It's stifling, offensive and boring.

What a horrible man. There is nothing honorable about him. He should resign. Is he married? I hope his wife divorces him.

I remember quite clearly that in the early Internet days, there was a website called http://MyFirstTime.com . A friend who worked for Kozinski said that he gleefully showed the chambers a website called http://MyFirstAnalTime.com .
