I want Democrats to make them pay for this when we are back in power. I want them to completely shred and humiliate every single one of these piece of shit republicans. The god damn hypocrisy after what they did to Merrick Garland. Dems should have told them to get fucked
-
They won't. Dems will bend over backwards"work with them and follow the rules" Dems haven't mastered the art of follow the leader the way Repubs have. I wish they would make them pay though, for us at least.
-
Because Democrats respect our institutions but I don’t give a damn anymore. If they don’t punish these bastards when they get the chance they’ll just push the base further to the left. If we have a chance to pack the courts with liberal judges they better damn well take it.
-
Turnabout is fair play.
-
Make everything 51% vote, get liberal judges in and change all the rules, reverse ta cuts, fix ACA or bring in universal healthcare.
-
In a word, no. Each time the party in power (irrespective of R or D) makes it successively more difficult for the party out of power to curb their excesses, perhaps in retribution for previous such actions, we get closer to one party rule.
-
Except there's only one party who does that. Rs move the line, then Dems either put it back or hold it, then Rs move it again, etc. Can't speak for anyone else, but I just meant we should play by their rules, bc Rs never suffer any consequences for their line-moving.
-
Grokking that this may sometimes, perhaps even often, be the case. Yet Dems, too, move the line. One example: making it much harder for the minority party (whichever that is, R or D) to filibuster, to try to block egregiously bad appointments https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/senate-poised-to-limit-filibusters-in-party-line-vote-that-would-alter-centuries-of-precedent/2013/11/21/d065cfe8-52b6-11e3-9fe0-fd2ca728e67c_story.html …pic.twitter.com/pprc2aCFIM

@GOP led by the ruthless@SenMajLdr stole these judgeships from Obama, just as they did the Supreme Court seat. Now they take away the only sanity check for these unqualified DJT appointees. -
He'd probably take "ruthless" as a compliment. I'd say reptilian is more apt.
-
I think unrepentant shit-heel is more appropriate.

Franken has been publicly denouncing GOP’s treatment of blue slips. They are thrilled to silence him while they kill blue slips altogether. Judiciary will be best tool of the RW theocratic oligarchy.
-
Yep. What happens to liberal Minnesota Dem Senators? I fondly remember Paul Wellstone. I don’t think Franken should resign yet. Did David Vitter resign? And WHY are Dems held to a higher standard than POTUS?.
