I wholly agree. But it takes more than a month, probably several terms in fact, for any justice to develop his or her philosophy.

A lifetime in conservative legal movement and a decade on a federal appeals court seems enough for that, at least for an Associate Justice.

Roberts' slight moderate drift can be chalked up to his institutional role in the Court that bears his name. Gorsuch won't have such concern
