Wasn't his whole thing during confirmation hearings that he always tried to reach unanimous decisions and rarely dissented?

Yes. His record of 97% unanimity is a bit tarnished now.

Yes. Especially the gun case. He's signalling a position more absolutist than Scalia. I see more 2A cases brought now as result.
