Aside what this says about Gianforte's temperament and fitness for office, shows how toxic health care/CBO question is on campaign trail

And I attribute some of this to Trump and others demonizing journalists and the important work they do to protect our democracy.

Journalism is more vital---yet more dangerous---than it has been in the modern American era. Glad to hear @Bencjacobs is okay.

A huge number (by Montana standards) of votes in this election have already been cast by mail. So hard to say if incident affects outcome

Not to get all Torts professor-y: even if Jacobs were threatening offensive contact (e.g. assault), Gianforte's touching disproportionate
