@rickhasen@nickconfessore@seanparnellipm@ezraklein donations are NOT income. What would you tax? No products sold. -
@OBrienMurray@rickhasen@nickconfessore@seanparnellipm@ezraklein Tax not the point; no disclosure, stretches intent of the section -
@Jo5367@rickhasen@nickconfessore@seanparnellipm@ezraklein That would be a court issue. NOT IRS. -
@OBrienMurray@rickhasen@nickconfessore@seanparnellipm@ezraklein doesn't IRS determine eligibility for exemption? -
@Jo5367@rickhasen@nickconfessore@seanparnellipm@ezraklein IRS would rec. the reports on inc. and exp. form 990. Why Only audit cons.? -
@OBrienMurray They didn't audit anyone. They bumped up 300 applications for further review, including about 75 Tea Party groups. -
@nickconfessore yes, and the reviews got pretty deep according to rpts. some of the quests. were just like an audit. -
@OBrienMurray Possible that some/all of reviews went beyond SOP. Need more info. But approp to ask orgs prove they're entitled to exemption. - 1 more reply
