Tell me precisely how it hurts? It may not accomplish much. But hurts? It adds rhetorical flourish I’d think

It shows the Democrats are desperate and will try anything, even ridiculous legal maneuvers, to stop Kavanaugh. It detracts from more serious efforts and problems.

You could probably answer that question yourself with a little research.

I had the exact same reaction upon seeing this. Not only does it look desperate and contrived, and not only does it have zero chance of succeeding, but you would think that a Senator, in particular, would most readily recognize the folly of judicial intervention . But no.

One would think they'd be lauded for not "sitting on their hands" since that's the latest "horseshoe" narrative these days. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I think its a net plus, helps with the base and isn’t uncivil enough to push moderates into the enemy camp.

Republicans aren’t the only ones that can play to their base. If, as reported, Merkley is testing the waters for a POTUS run, this isn’t really such a dumb move. More people will know his name.

Dems should worry that what, Republicans will like them even less? We need to play as rough as they do. Republicans would not hesitate to put *Hillary Clinton* in jail if they thought they could, actual merits of such punishment be damned.

The desperation to control the court's ideological bent is at hysterical levels with these antics. The agenda of the left under Obama is crumbling into dust and the hatred for all things rooted in our Heritage are surfacing.
