I'm so glad we're making this about Feinstein and not Kavanaugh.

This debacle is firmly the fault of Feinstein. Entirely her fault. If she had handled it appropriately in July this would have been resolved in a proper fashion.
-
Regardless of timing, the only proper resolution is Kavanaugh not getting confirmed.

B-b-b-bullshit.

From conversations with people who have worked with her over the years there are real fears of declining capacity. That said I think she’s actually handled herself well in this case and over the last year. I’ll probably reluctantly vote for Kevin de León.
-
FWIW, half the senate seems to be in mental decline and a good chunk of the new ones seem to be ideologues. More truth-telling pragmatists please.
-
Get real. I am a Rep, but about 3/4s of the Senate look like a senescent Emperor Palpatine and need to go, regardless of their party. (I am a Boomer and I shouldn't be in a position of authority).
-
1/2 vs 3/4 doesn’t seem like a big disagreement here. I’d like to see a mandatory retirement age somewhere well before 80. These senate offices are just controlled by the unelected staff and senate leaders.
-
Yes. For all offices, including the federal judiciary. I don't care if it is RBG or Scalia. 70 and out should be the rule.

MZ Hemingway: "The idea you can perpetually delay a SCOTUS confirmation because of a decades-old claim that arose after the hearings concluded and to which the accuser is unwilling to testify, is patently absurd...."

My question is, has Senator Feinstein ever received a similar letter regarding any other nominee? Such as Gorsuch for example?

Equally troubling is Feinstein's failure to act on attorney letter re federal court employees with relevant info re Kavanaugh/Kozinski. CA voters should replace Feinstein with

For the most opportune time to derail Kavanaugh's confirmation. She should he censored.

She waited until right before the vote intentionally so there wouldn't be enough time to address the issue. That is assuming it is a real issue which I don't believe. They have been trying to delay this because they think they can take the Senate.

I heard she held on to the letter so long because she received a similar letter from her before the Gorsuch hearing. They’re investigating that now. Her recent comment is very interesting. She said she doesn’t know if the information was true or not. Republicans need to find out!

If she's so diminished in capacity so as to forget the lines of her script, she need to step down.
