I'm not claiming it's perjury. (I don't think it is b/c he didn't directly answer the question and his answer is highly specific to memos.) I'm not claiming it's impeachable. But it's misleading, no? And why not say that he realizes in hindsight that he got some stolen material?

This would be true if perjury was some sort of disqualification. Evidently, lying under oath is acceptable now.

The more I find out about Kavanaugh the worse it gets! I'm already VERY concerned about his originalist interpretation of the Constitution. The unitary executive theory is crazy. We don't need a right wing ideologue on the bench. He won't recuse himself! Farwell Roe v. Wade!

These 7 Democrats should not run again in November if they can’t even see through this charade. Kavanaugh =trump. If they were my senator I’d be on the phone—yesterday! DO IT.

I agree Professor Hasen. In fact, I believe his dissembling and clear attempts to mislead the committee is not only grounds for impeachment, but disbarment. His answers to Democratic Senators are often so conditioned and myopic they are essentially non-responsive.

The motion to impeach Kavanaugh has to start in the House. But that’s no reason not to force the issue ASAP. Voters are eager for Democrats who will fight for them. @NancyPelosi can bring a privileged motion to the floor without Republican permission. #KavanaughConfirmation

This means he was put on the appellate court by fraud and the fraud persists. I am for two party systems or whatever, but something cancerous has infected the GOP. They can't advance anyone or anything without some kind of fraud. Can you censure a political party?

Judge Porteous was impeached in part for lying in his confirmation hearings. Orrin Hatch was pretty forceful as chair of that Senate Impeachment Trial Committee. I bet he had some good on the record that misstatements in confirmation hearings are grounds for impeachment.
