In other words, I'm guessing Paul Clement and Co. just got some of their Labor Day weekend back.

Absentee ballots are already delayed due to lawsuits over ballot amendments. If we redraw districts now, early voting will be delayed & shortened. Dems vote early; GOP votes election day. We have NCGA races that would be jeopardized by a delay. We've gotta take back the NCGA.

Yes, I read it. And personally, it sounds like they're not trying hard enough. Expedite it! Disappointing, seeing as how it's the most important election of my (and I suspect others') lifetime.

Yes I did. Let me say if it were Republicans who wanted the districts redrawn, it would’ve happened the very next day.

Then it would have been challenged in court, and it would have dragged out and delayed absentee & early voting (which favors Dems).

I think it takes effort to be this incompetent. Especially taken with the fast tracking of Trump's judicial nominees.

As is explicitly noted in part of the filing, and implicit elsewhere, the Dems involved concluded that it may not be in their interest to signal support for Wynn's remedies. Neither chaos attributable to them nor a low-turnout post-Nov election was in their electoral interest.

Won't happen for NC Congressional Districts for 2018 but given that most of Covington was affirmed, NC voters are positioned to eliminate the R majorities in the General Assembly, which could lead to an abandonment of the appeals in Rucho. Better late than never,
