He is getting some district judges in NY
-

-
Hey, you asked! It happens to be something he cares about.
-
Huh? There are no NY judges in the batch that was the subject of the deal last night.
-
do we know the whole deal?
-
Dems gave unanimous consent to fast-track these seven judicial nominees yesterday: https://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1034519956715720705 … And also agreed to process these eight add'l nominees on an expedited basis when they return next week:https://twitter.com/SenateCloakroom/status/1034523390445584384 …
-
Also, three of the judges from blue states on the Senate cloakroom list you supply are pretty clearly Dem picks. See, e.g., CT and MN names.
-
Yes, Klobuchar tweeted out her enthusiasm about getting Brasel through last night, and has been urging a consent agreement like this since earlier this summer. That doesn't change it was an awful, lopsided deal that will now open up floor time for far more heinous picks.

His senators in close races are desperate to get out of town—and McConnell knows it. That’s the whole thing, it’s entirely transactional
-
This is entirely plausible but I wonder if he's miscalculating how much a significant percentage of the base might like to see senators fighting these nominations, and whether not doing so risks depressing turnout.

The
@GOP should be opposed at every turn. The Dems should become the party of obstruction until the traitor in chief is fully investigated and cleared! McConnell is crooked too I suspect, certainly looks compromised. - 1 more reply

What power, specifically, could Schumer use to prevent this? Minority doesn't even have the power to enforce a hold anymore. I feel your frustration, but yelling at
@senschumer doesn't seem to make a lot of sense here. -
Please educate yourself on Senate rules before you accuse people of unfairly "yelling".

I don't know. The last I heard he was cutting a deal to get a few days off. Don't know if this is the deal, or they have different one. I'm not happy with Schummer, he plays footsies with McConnell to often. Spineless, and typical.
-
He's my senator from NY, and I'm not one bit happy that he isn't fighting his ass off for us.
-
In all fairness there isn't a lot he can do being in the minority. However, he doesn't have to roll over either.
-
I know; he's outnumbered. I just wish he would call press conferences, bitch like hell, tell the public how unfair this is... at least make a stink about it. I don't expect miracles, but some people don't even know this is happening. It has to be seen on the nightly news.
-
Exactly how I feel.
