Put another way, the emoluments definition doesn't support a conservative ideology or long term interests of the Republican party.

Larry---disputes over the definition of "emoluments" do not break over a liberal/conservative axis. Wholly Trump-driven question. And hardly a good counterexample for those who expect originalists to oppose abortion, affirmative action, support strong gun rights etc.
