Rick Hasen Retweeted Vote November 6th  🌊

This tweet intimates that Justice Kennedy voted corruptly in cases because of his son’s work w Trump. That’s a very serious charge without evidence. Now the @adamliptak @maggieNYT “buttering up guy w huge ego to get him to leave” theory much more plausible.https://twitter.com/neeratanden/status/1012665534297624577 …

      Vote November 6th  🌊Verified account @neeratanden
Just to state this: Justice Kennedy's son gave a billion dollar loan to Trump when no one would give him a dime, and Justice Kennedy has been ruling in favor of the Trump Administration position for 2 years as the Court decides 5-4 case after 5-4 case.

But why go with the easy explanation when you can put another pin with a red string into the corkboard?

I was genuinely surprised to hear of Justice Kennedy’s connection to Trump via his son, and I follow the court fairly closely. Was this common knowledge?

There have been articles, it was not widely reported and never in the realm of common knowledge. If Chelsea had taken money from a Supreme Court Justice’s son, I suspect we would have been talking about it non stop. Because it’s ludicrous.

But it was not commonly known. Why? Because of the onslaught of crises, one after another, plus controversies like dinner-gate that the press, & consequently the public, obsess about for days at a time.

We need journos to help us stay focused on what’s important. Don’t want to get into a chicken ‘n egg debate about it, but so much important info is lost b/c so many w/ big platforms would rather horse-race & hot-take all day long.
