Democrats have no power to stop this nomination. The only thing that would stop it is if Trump nominates someone not acceptable to Republicans. And I expect those "moderate" Republicans to fold, as they always do when McConnnell demands it.Rick Hasen added,

In my Scalia book I called the battle over Kennedy's successor "World War III," Now I'm not so sure if McConnell can hold his people together. It will take public protests in streets to even try to move few moveable Republicans---remember Flake, McCain would love another Scalia
