Particularly since conditional voter registration and provisional ballots seemed to do exactly what they were designed to do - serve as a failsafe to allow voters to vote in precisely this kind of circumstance.

I’m sorry? What’s the problem here? If voters were left off of the rolls despite previously having been registered shouldn’t there at least be provisional ballots provided (and insisted upon)? Extending the election should still be an option. 118,000 people left out is shameful.

Provisional ballots were offered. Conditional voter registration was available. Extending the election isn't an option.
-
None of those facts were noted in the article. The only mention of provisional ballots came from an embedded tweet from the candidate. My apologies.
-
No apologies necessary; reporters often don't get all the details right - especially when "upset voter/wronged candidate" is the dominant theme of the article. You can count on every election official across the country to do everything they can to help eligible voters can vote.

Even if your off the roll, can’t you still vote provisional?
