I whipped out my cell phone today, not to take a selfie but to look at the @LACBA judicial election ratings. I don't know how I, or other members of my family, would have made intelligent voting choices without the key work of the Bar Association. Thank you!
Good to know that our voting equipment is acting like it's supposed to and catch over-votes. We are pushing the message that there are two pages of candidates. Pollworkers are also supposed to inform voters when they arrive.
Yes, and I was warned of it twice before I voted
It's always tough when the number of candidates pushes past the upper bounds of good design *and* technological capacity ... I know EOs would love to get everyone on one well-designed page but that can be a challenge!

Were the voters allowed to cast new ballots after the machines caught the overvotes?
It's a federal election so they are required to be ... and knowing LA County I'm 99.99% sure they were if they wanted to.
yes of course
I voted by mail which included a separate disclaimer that the governor and senate candidate names covered two pages. Did they not have the same warnings at the polls?
The same notice that was in the VBM packets was also included in the vote recorder. Additionally, there were signs at the polling place and our pollworkers reminded voters when they checked in.
I would gloat about being first but Dean has more going on today ... So we'll call it a tie.
