Another example: someone thinks they are good at estimating how long something will take because of a few times they were spot on. Forgets all the estimates that were way off.

What's the cognitive bias where people only remember the exceptional events and think of them as more common? e.g. "Every time I go to plug a USB cord in it's upside down" The person thinks it happens more often because of a failure to recall instances of it working first time

I've written a pretty detailed article about an old UX technique that seems to have fallen out of favour: Task Analysishttps://medium.com/@rickdzekman/most-ux-projects-could-use-task-analysis-7244e8cf9916?source=friends_link&sk=c92e4086f8ca1be59f345f1b2ebc8879 …

Projects I worked on over 18 months ago just went into production. Other projects I’ve worked on will never see the light of day. Do other designers have these problems?

One thing I’ve learned through meditation + observing twitter spats: - People never know why they do/say something. - If it turns out to be a bad take, there isn’t a social mechanism to say “my brain did an impulsive thing, thinking back I don’t agree”

I've had many a battle with design teams over underline/float-label only form fields. "But Google does it!" is the most common response. So it's great to see Google publish some of their research that led them towards a more traditional form field designhttps://medium.com/google-design/the-evolution-of-material-designs-text-fields-603688b3fe03 …

And as a follow-up, when one of my clients hires me to do design research and use that to help them establish a direction of the product + design implementation of that direction am I consulting as a designer or product manager?

Someone still has to “design” these aspects of the product right? And ideally this design is based on research, analytics, market data, etc. Not suggesting this should be the role of a UX designer but it still feels like it’s part of the design

Perhaps someone on Design Twitter™ can clarify for me If a "Product Designer" is just a UI/UX Designer, what's the title for someone who designs the product: - Decides features - Pricing structure - Value prop / USPs - etc?

Now that my startup has real users trying out our beta the amount of work we have to do has exploded. Bootstrapping a startup is hard work.
