Want: a gamification bot/extension for GitHub to encourage good citizenship. Filed a bug report? 10 points. Fixed the bug? 100 points. Did something incredible? 1000 points. etc Then there's a dashboard so you can see who has the most points and how they got them.

Having a code of conduct for your community project is less about deterring or enforcing against the rare rule-breaker and more about signalling inclusivity for all. It says "we'll have your back." Every GitHub project should have one.

Quick story Before I joined Google/YouTube in 2013, I interviewed at the NYC office in 2011. On the way to lunch my interviewer asked "Do you scoot?" I wasn't familiar with that verb but had a great time buzzing through the halls. I think of that every time I see these around.

Loving these comments on the recent State of the Web video on with "I'm about 9 months into my web dev journey, but the light she brought to the work yet undone in making the web truly accessible to EVERYONE just gave my dev journey a whole new meaning." ‼️

So insightful and she definitely woke my mind to scenarios for improving accessibility that I never thought of. I'm about nine(9) months into my web developer journey, but the light she brought to the work yet undone in making the web truly accessible to EVERYONE just gave my dev journey a whole new meaning. Thank you Google Chrome for bringing her on. Great feature! ❤
When we design for accessibility, we also improve the whole usability of our products, EVERY user gains from this.
For example: Adding keyboard controls in our products, won't just enable someone with visual disability to use our product, but will also enable power users to use the web in an ultra fast way.
Great talk about an important topic

Good stuff

I appreciate this post by that considers biases in tech surveys, Web Almanac included, in the context of the arguably disproportional importance given to React and jQuery. h/t
