    1) Narcissists are more likely to want to be entrepreneurs (as are sub clinical psychopaths) 2) Start/scaleups are more likely to have cultures that revere leaders, and to lack internal checks and controls (eg strong HR/internal audit)

Came across this report on Performance Management via (thanks!) - Interesting, but for me helping managers to do the basics well is the key. More data/tech is great, but only if managers have the skill/confidence to use it to make judgements

Really good read for those interested in organisational culture. Key line for me: "Culture is not a simple statement of values or aspirations. Rather, it is a complex and sometimes inconsistent repertoire of practices that underpin day-to-day work."

Some really great, timely and evidence-based insights here from ( ) on developing effective virtual teams. Key takeaway for me: humble leaders can be more effective in virtual teams. How can we help these humble leaders step forward?

For (the majority of) men who care about gender equality this means doing more childcare and housework (Sadly I am neglecting the kids to write this tweet so I'd better go and take some of my own medicine) 7/7

For companies I think this means paying very close attention to female talent and recognising that the playing field is particularly uneven right now. Particularly true in sectors who already struggle with gender equality e.g. 6/7

This isn't anything new sadly. For anyone interested in the topic I strongly recommend "Delusions of Gender" by Cordelia Fine. Especially the chapter called "Gender Equality Begins (or Ends) at Home". It's a polemic for sure but a good one. 5/7

Recently I've seen lots of interesting articles making different versions of the same point: The burden of educating and caring for kids in this crisis is carried more by women than men Here are some of them: 1/7

At some point - long after the lockdown is over - I will look back on "the day the puppy ate laxatives" and I will laugh. (That was yesterday. Skipper now seems to be ok thankfully.)

In general I'm trying to moderate my covid 19 content habit (makes me anxious) and commit to what's right in front of me. But I made time for this and it was worth it.
