Looking to hear from anyone who makes use of ASTC6x6 and or ASTC12x12 in real world (mobile?) apps. What prompted the decision to go with these rather than ASTC4x4, ASTC8x8? Is it purely due to bitrate , or is it a limitation of existing encoder pipeline/target decoder?
BTW - If you had a proper RDO ASTC codec 4x4 would be much less bulky for distribution. (Obviously still big in memory.)
