...almost no patterns. It’s actually astonishing to me how diverse corps are. Activision and EA, to speak of the biggest ones, are almost completely opposite. Yet I love both and both do great stuff

And within Atvi the various studios-by design- are more different than they are alike. I know Rich has the best intentions but that post paints a picture that I don’t recognize and I think is bad for ppl who don’t know how the industry is

There are good companies out there. Part of the motivation for writing this was to help younger developers avoid the bad companies and go to the good ones.

Sure, but how does it help? It covers basically all categories with negative attributes, plus in my experience there is so much variance within a given category (at least of the ones I've experienced) that talking of it as a whole is just not possible.

I imagine his issue is that there are no good patterns listed. Although it may be aimed at helping people avoid bad companies it could also easily be seen as "everything is shit, just stay away from tech"

Also, I do list some possibly good places. For example, Megacorps can be great if you can ignore the politics and survive the reorgs. They can be very stable places until you cash out.
