Clueless publishers will pile on temporary devs, telling them to fix any and all bugs in the database. These devs come in, hack on a bunch of bugs, then leave. There's Jira churn so producers are happy. The reality is that all this hacking has introduced even more bugs.

If you're unfortunately on a team like this you need to seriously ask yourself if you really think the title can ship in 1 week. Many times management lies in order to get the team to work harder.

I think this is game development and is also why I dont really like working on games directly. Most is hacked and rushed. Nobody cares about UX and UI, as long as it works. No long term thinking. Cry engine is a good example of this too. Just hack added features for their games.

I found that GAAS changes it a bit. Solid foundations are super important if you intend to support your game for years and hacks will always come back to haunt you later
