Change in how the drivers work: Metal 2 + eGPU has been changing the underlying driver. And if no one seriously maintains the GL backend... this is what happens

But why does everything apparently still work when building with an older xcode version? Won't that still use the same driver underneath?

let's be honest here... does any company put its best driver/graphics folks on OpenGL these days?

I'm sure a couple NVIDIA devs are going to object vociferously, but that's about it.
