I had, I thought, a nice in-person interview at Major Tech Co, but they kept stringing me along for weeks afterwords about how they were still "gathering feedback". Now they've stopped responding to my emails. How hard is it to just say "no thanks"?

I would've been happy to tell them to take a hike after the second time they told me they'd be in touch within
$rand(2, 5) days and didn't, but that's risky to do if you don't have any other offers yet. -
(I did let them know I was interviewing elsewhere, but their interview happened first.)

But if you give them a few days only and you have applies to several companies at the same time, you have to act quickly and spend a lot of time on interviews. How does it work with your current day job?

Take a vacation? Or get sick for a few days. If you act like you need them, you're at a disadvantage and perceived as less valuable. They need you.
