Yup. It’s called “at will employment”. If an employee quits its held against them (“rage quitter!”). The principle of reciprocity actually applies and employees can quit at any time, too. It’s not a marriage.

There is zero loyalty, zero job security. If you piss someone off you will eventually get the axe. It’s just a matter of time. Google devs that refuse to work on stuff will be all forced out, eventually.

Yup. Or the company will underpay you, give you some options and claim they are selling out in 6-12 months. Strange thing is, it’s always 6-12 months away. The sellout never goes down.
