I was becoming worried on Covid complaceny. The potential (and it still is only potential) of the Omicron variant has raised this worry. In this weekend's Spectator essay, I have laid out what I think we need to do as we live with endemic Covid.

Data Gumbo has won the ADIPEC Oil and Gas Start Up Company of the Year. Of course the smart contacts that typically deliver around a 10% saving for the buyer, should apply just as well outside Oil and Gas.

Variants threatens the route out of lockdown. Vaccinations limited by supply. Those who have had Covid seem really well protected after only one jab. So, should they consider delaying their second jab so others can have first shot earlier? via

Well done HMG on the Anti-Viral taskforce. Sad it was not April 2020. Illustrates the "need for speed" in beating Covid. In fact in that Feb article (repeating point from Jan piece) I said we needed to step our approach to treatments. via

It's not clear that we can suppress Covid with vaccines on their own. Covid, and especially the new variants, have very high transmission. We need mass testing, at least for a while if we are to unlock fully. via

Despite the huge success of the UK's vaccine programme, 37% of over 70-year olds of African origin have not been vaccinated. We could have a death rate amongst this group as we unlock that we later deeply regret. via

The Moonshot of mass testing might be about to finally launch properly. Treatments, vaccines and testing will together be our way out.

A great piece about Data Gumbo, the internet of things, blockchain start up, I chair. We have now gone public that our smart contracts and IIT devices can be used to measure a carbon footprint.

This was a difficult piece to write. Not just around the current situation though this is shocking. But also understanding the challenge we face at Easter even if we manage to vaccinate all those at-risk. via
