    It covers everything from pagan festivals, World's Fairs, game shows, ancient maze toys, Dungeons & Dragons, LARP, the first theme parks, games like Pong and Myst, Edgar Allan Poe's newspaper puzzles, and more. Strongly recommended for all immersive art/entertainment nerds!

    Not only is 's Planning Your Escape (out Aug 3!) a great primer on how to enjoy escape rooms, but the first half is an amazing survey on all the influences that came before. Essentially, a brief history of themed and immersive entertainment.

    A reminder: Your work is not your family. Your industry is not your community. Can you find good people at work and in the industry? Yes. Is it healthy to build relationships outside of your work? OMG YES! We don't all know/like each other just because our work is games.

    imagine all the ways energy could be spent if marginalized people in games didn’t have to deal with this horseshit. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve lost to “how do I go about documenting/reporting/managing x incident” when I’d rather be ideating on “cool RPG mechanics”
