Being one of so few Black PhDs in this country, and god knows how few Black digital humanities scholars, to see such overt racism on the same listserv I find job opportunities, CfPs and conferences was terrifying.

Publishing a direct response to a white male professor who is head of the DH department at a prestigious university was not an easy choice - I had to immediately write off ever working there.
