@rianjohnson congrats you made the RLM boys stretch themselves thin with a really lazy and weak Plinkett review that everyone is comparing to cinema sins. I really dug The Last Jedi but I was hoping they would still tear the film apart. Oh well.

This is like what young teenagers going through a phase, RP'ing online sound like and not an adult who reacts to people not liking his "work".
-
It's been 8 months of Rian having to defend his work, again and again and again. Do you think anyone is still entitled to his "adult reactions?" This situation is beyond ridiculous. Why shouldn't his responses be equally so?
-
(1) Honestly first off, maybe he shouldn't have made such a bad movie in the first place, Second off the only reaction from Rian which i've seen is just saying "deal with it" and i don't remember him ever even thinking about the fact that maybe he made a mistake, which would've -

(2) been the adult thing to do. You can't just make something bad, tell others to deal with it and cry about how unfair everyone is Third off he isn't even retaliating. Like, what does the cigarette thing even mean? Its not an insult, its just-

(3) a middle aged, balding man pretending to be in a noir film or something. Thats something a teenager does to look cool on the internet.

You should honestly go on their show, have a few beers, and defend your movie. Talk to them and help them understand your vision and the creative process. It would actually be really cool to see.
-
I think this is a good idea as well. They trashed Max Landis's movies before he went on and talked to them about it, and the discussion was frank and fascinating. But somehow I think the mouse would be none too pleased about Rian appearing on an independent internet review show.
-
You might be right, but there might be an NDA or some contract they could both sign that could work out the details. Never know If I were
@rianjohnson and I thought I had made a good movie, I would want to defend it vehemently. Especially among critics that were once loved.

Yeah. For example this time last year people still were interested in Star Wars and going to the theaters to watch it in record numbers and there was an active and happy fandom *takes long sip of capri-sun* Not really the case anymore kiddo

More character development in a handful of tweets than a two and a half hour scifi movie.

It's amazing how we live in a society where social media addiction causes famous people to viciously self own in full public view on a regular basis

Crazy how SW fans can't even have a decent conversation about it anymore on social media. The fan backlash is real, IG comments facebook, twitter reddit. I will be SHOCKED if you are allowed to direct another SW movie tbh You could have ended this months ago. Art nvr = perfection
-
I mean, he has a new SW trilogy coming out...
-
I'll wait for the confirmation by official sources at Lucasfilm/Disney. Like I said I would be surprised I am sure Disney expects a Marvel like situation where everyone is happy. Not a dumpster fire at Lucasfilm because someone wanted to disregard everything and do what they want
-
We will see I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
