I think the existence of the term "outsider art" and the lack of any real parallels for this concept in music or literature illustrates this
-
one time my ex told me I couldve/could be an outsider artist, very good neg on her part
-
Surely making thousands of tweets on a faceless account qualifies one as an outsider artist at least in some regards, right?

i dont really 'understand' in my brain how it would feel to be 'effected' by a painting or a statue
-
I know what you mean I think i 'get it' more now but it was something i had to 'learn'
-
Have u ever done art After plowing a couple years of of-and-on study into drawing/art I feel much more capable of appreciating an Old Master etc. Like I can see a painting by Johann Christian Dahl and be genuinely moved but it wouldn't have happened when I was younger
-
nah i havent but that surely won't have much to do with getting it? like i dont need to play a guitar for music to click - maybe it would make me appeciate/admire the craft etc, but its not quite the same surely?
-
Yeah it's def not the same I'm not sure why that did it for me Maybe I'm only moved by my understanding of the technical mastery
