cuban collapse is an instance of energy descent, which i dont think is what people really have in mind when they talk about american collapse

but cuba doesnt have the rapid demographic change the us does, even in an energy descent scenario i dont think we can rely on a common culture binding the populace in facing loss of governmental/infrastructural function with stoicism and neighborly solidarity

I meant contemporaneous with said collapse... in the Cuban case it was 40 years prior
