A policy preventing Copyright owners from making $ on manual claims for:
Short song clips (ex: 5 sec of a song)
Unintentional audio (ex:
from passing cars)
Claimants can still block monetization or the video itself, but timestamps help you edit out the claim.

Still don't get why copyright owners can claim something for having 5 seconds of a song but oh well. Maybe there is a reason. You're trying and everyone appreciates it.

The reason is that you're using content that someone else created & owns. You do have the right to argue Fair Use, but only courts (not YouTube) can decide whether use of someone else’s content is protected under Fair Use. Here’s a great explainer video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTLQ4h4yKSk …

But we live under a system of "innocent until proven guilty." Shouldn't an injunction be needed to concede that the copyright claim is valid, absent an obvious wholesale copy? It's up to the claimant to prove it's copyright infringement, not the creator to prove it's Fair Use.

I don't know if thats in YouTube's hands tbh. They arent assertive enough with their advertisers.
