After a week of campaigning by Glaswegians Serco have finally seen sense and have paused their callous plan to evict asylum seekers from their homes. I now reiterate my call on the Home Secretary and Immigration Minister to intervene and review the entire process. It is barbaric.

Antisemitic abuse has no place in the Labour Party. Anyone with such views must understand: you do not do it in my name. You are not my supporters and have no place in our movement. We must drive this out of our Party for good.

Breaking: I understand an interim interdict hearing will take place on Tuesday in the Court of Session. The court will be asked to issue a temporary order (interdict) to stop Serco evicting the asylum seeker represented. More to follow

We are disgusted that will not intervene to protect 300 asylum seekers being evicted by . Despite hunger strikes and calls from charities, politicans and they are still in fear of losing their homes

I have received a torrent of emails from members asking about my position on the “sex-based” rights of women. Granting others greater legislative protection doesn’t lessen your own; it’s not either/or. Trans women are women, and deserving of dignity, safety and security.

This is such a great video that articulates a lot of what I have been trying to say. Take Anti-Semitism seriously, commit to fighting it wherever it exists- in our party and in society.

Today marks the 4th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide in the Sinjar region of Northern Iraq. Four years on, 400,000 internally-displaced Yazidis still live in limbo in Iraq; 44 mass graves have since been uncovered; over 3,000 kidnapped Yazidi women are still unaccounted for.

I get people are angry at the moment but take 5 seconds to think what it does to our ability to fight racism and fascism if you’re happy to call Jewish people on the left, vocal and active in the fight against anti-semitism, a Nazi.

Here is another piece from the NEC meeting: It’s fair and accurate. When you have 40+ people working together, one person doesn’t undermine that.

I almost tweeted something sarcastic along with this but actually I’ll just say: this isn’t fucking on. Whilst I’ve come to expect attacks, abuse and a general disinterest in the actual work I’m trying to do- a Nazi, really? It’s pretty hard not to just give up. (I won’t though)

Voter ID is a disaster for democracy. There is one true purpose behind it: disenfranchise disadvantaged and underrepresented communities.

📢 Show your opposition to the mass evictions which are planned by Serco. Around 300 refugees will be faced with eviction this week, as a city and as a society we must do all we can to stop this.
