Ok, is it me or is it really weird that @OpenSourceOrg doesn't have anybody on its board with strong ties to any of the 5 major open source foundations: @TheASF @EclipseFdn @linuxfoundation @mozila and @fsf ? https://opensource.org/docs/board-annotated …
Good point on @mmillions. So at least @fsf is represented. Still my point stands for the other 4 most influential open source foundations. Your argument that you have a few alums doesn't really address my issues (unless you keep alums as advisors)

Not arguing, just sharing information. Can you please explain what association/role one must have to "have strong ties" to an association? For example, many on the OSI Board are members of, and contributors to, the organizations you've identified as "the top 5".

Let me offer a very simple argument (that actually started this thread). As a highly active member of
@TheASF I no longer feel that I have adequate representation@OpenSourceOrg. I don't even say that OSI should care, just sharing my observation. Maybe... - 4 more replies

Not speaking of OSI specifically, but what is strange is that most of the go-to "experts" and "leaders" within
#opensource now are people without any opensource development experience at all. Sure, not all contributions are code, but it's weird nonetheless. -
+1000! btw, when you say "development experience" to me it translates into being a vital part of an active OS organization, rather than "must sling code". E.g. there are plenty of members
@TheASF who don't write code and yet would make an awesome addition to OSI.

You might also look at previous nominees for the Board: https://wiki.opensource.org/bin/Main/OSI+Board+of+Directors/Board+Member+Elections/2018_election …). Many may more closely align to your expectations.
