I have never heard anyone propose that officers near schools shouldn’t be armed.

We shouldn't need officers assigned to schools. Not just for this reason. How many videos are there of cops tormenting a disabled child or arresting an AA child for a minor infraction? It feeds the school to prison system and adds to behavior problems in special needs students.

Maybe they're just waiting on some more facts? I'm sure you won't hear one MSM outlet report this story, right? One thing I can guarantee, you over at the NRA will be repeating it for the next thirty years. That's about how old your last good guy with a gun story was.

What if that is the whole issue? GOP: "Oh wait, you are okay with Cops keeping their guns? Silly us! We were thinking this whole time you wanted to include cops in the "no guns" thing. Egg on our face! Your gun proposals sound incredibly reasonable."

I just tweeted the same thing! The argument all along has been that cops are being outgunned by the lax laws that allow the sale of assault rifles to the mentally ill.
