This is nothing new from where I come from sri lanka. There are so many Buddhist, Hindu, Christian and Muslim marriages. Its all about respecting each others believes.

How does it work the other way around e.g. Non-Muslim man and Muslim woman. How do they live peacefully anywhere? Would that be considered dishonorable and punishable by death?
