If people are looking for Trump's base, it's the folks who have absolutely no problem with blatant hypocrisy.

Not completely coincident with evangelicals, but they're clearly the backbone.

As an atheist, speaking only for myself, this doesn't surprise me. However, what the hell is happening to evangelicals?
-
Abortion. They held their noses to get a pro-life Supreme Court Justice.
-
Statistically, don't evangelicals obtain more abortions than any other group?
-
Hypocrisy abound! They also like using other people's money for their own benefit. Grew up in a mega church. Man, those pastors dress nice.
-
God wants them to be presentable :)

Psalms 37:11 - But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace

The evangelicals have embraced a "the ends justify the means" mentality.Their religion is not a Christian way of life.

doesn't surprise me. We care about humanity and the earth. Not sure what evangelicals care about other than the idea of caring.

Key word there is behaviour; atheists are more likely to judge someone on what they *do* than to be satisfied with professions of "beliefs".

So basically they only cared when it came to a Democrat being president. Now I understand. Such upstanding honest people. <smh>

Evangelicals seem to really good at rationalization. Atheists, with no stake to protect, seem to be less prone to it.

If 81% of evangelicals support Trump, then God is dead in middle America today

Lets hope atheists have authentic ethics and morals. Look what the "Christians" have done to this country.

So what matters to people of all sorts is power, not any kind of constant, intelligible morality. I feel like I've read that somewhere.
-
Let me guess-McIntyre or Dante?
-
Aeschylus, Plato, Dante, Nietzsche, MacIntyre--take your pick! It's not a new insight.
-
Right, I was just playing bingo...
