Eh. I think this is dishonest. Ellison accusations boil down to two things: NOI ties, and quote discussed in article.

This article walked a good line by pointing out Ellison's disavowal of NOI, painting this as accepting ppl who change for better:

I think it's fair to say "He's changed and we don't know extent of the maliciously edited quotes".

I do not think it's fair to call concerns of people re: a man who praised NOI and apparently said these things malicious smears.

and I think it does a disservice to Israel discourse to say those concerns = calling criticisms of Israeli policy antisemetic

Saying that here is why people don't believe it when it's said in other places imho. Obviously papering over of real concerns.

THAT said, we also need to be careful to call out actually harmful and stupid Ellison critiques. Like I said, it's a fine line.
