We tell ourselves that if we had lived in the 60s we would have marched with King and had zero tolerance for Jim Crow, come what may. We fantasize about how if we were in Germany in the 40s we would’ve fought and heroically died rather than be complicit in the Holocaust.

We agree that such moments in history require absolute moral clarity about which side is good and which is evil, who is right and who is wrong. We do not tolerate nuance in answering such questions. We rightly look at those who compromised with evil as being complicit in evil.

And yet here we are living through precisely such a moment. A moment requiring absolute moral clarity. A moment in which good and evil, right and wrong, are staring us in the face, begging us to choose. Instead we argue about “civility” and “economic anxiety” and “both sides.”

When this moment in history passes and the cancer of Trumpism is finally wiped away, will you look your kids in the eyes and say “Yeah, but lower taxes; Sure, but economic anxiety”? There are only two sides here. I know which side I’m on and what I’m willing to suffer. Do you?

But we WILL look back and say "When exactly did it become okay for men to use the women's restroom? And who exactly made that okay? And when did there become more than two genders?" And you can smile proudly and say you were a part of that. Yay.

At a German school we went through the whole rise of Hitler and why he was elected in the first place. It made sense at the time. Of course the main point was that he was a monster, but it provides additional understanding.

What are YOU going to sacrifice for the good of the world? Oh, that's right, nothing. You're about imposing tasks on others while you just sit and virtue signal.
-
Oh hi Holly. You don't know a thing about him, do you? Your lazy dishonesty merely highlights your cowardice.
-
And what do YOU know about him? My opinions are based on what he chooses to show us. And I stand by my statements.
-
He's already lost a steady stream of paid commentator appearances and a TV series for speaking out. So, there's that, and not to mention the constant online abuse and harassment. Sounds a bit more than just "virtue signaling" to me.
-
Nobody does vicious, targeted harassment like Reza Aslan does. NOBODY. Minors are not exempt. Just having some exposure as a commentator is not proof he's worthy of respect or that what he says is valid . He degrades others to boost his own status - that's virtue signalling.
