A whopping 68% of White Evangelicals say America has no responsibility to house refugees fleeing famine and war. That’s 25% over the national average! This not a theological issue. Bible couldn’t be clearer on this issue. This is pure, unadulterated, nativistism and racism. QED

We’d love to keep god out of it (some of us still believe in the Constitution’s Establishment Clause) but it’s the white evangelicals who keep saying Trump was “anointed by god.” It’s on them.

trump has cost the white evangelical christian hypocrites nothing. the money flows, the sexual assaults on young women and boys continues and they are getting what they want. all they have to do is turn a blind eye and call him god. they lose nothing.

All you really have to do is read up on the history of the KKK to understand racism is deeply linked to religious fervor and the Christian notion of white supremacy. Of course, it does go back much further, but kkk is a uniquely American phenomenon rooted in hate.
To be fair, anyone who didn't see this sickness in the Evangelical movement a decade ago hasn't been paying attention.

This is an excellent piece; as a white somewhat anti-evangelical non-Christian, I thank you for bringing it before my eyes.
Did Trump just boost the racism? Note that I think he is only somewhat to quite racist - he just says & does extremely racist things cos they are the correct level of controversial for him, not cos he actually believes them or understands or cares about the other consequences! 
Sad as it is, the reality is there were people who supped w/Jesus, before He was crucified, and not only betrayed Him, for the love of money, but denied Him to save themselves. Evangelicals are programmed w/a sense of entitlement+ superiority and birth right, that is anti christ.
Trump is a criminal enterprise. He awards the people who allow him to break laws with financial gains if he can. They crowd around him clapping waiting for their pay off. The government and its laws are the enemy to them. Their party are like Russians now. Traitors to America.
