The sign is dark satire. It might not be for everyone. For me, it's her smile that is http://wrong.You can have that smile or you can hold that sign. You cannot do both. Not malicious, but definitely not appropriate either.

The fact that many can't understand why this is a heartless way to protest is shameful. The mother of that child and wife/ partner to that father lives this horrific moment over and over. Protest but show respect to people of color. Not satire , people are living it.

To me, if she'd been somber while holding the sign it would have been respectful. She's calling the administration out on their cruelty. Her smile kind of kills that message. But everyone has their own tastes.
