it's not like folks aren't writing stories abt everyday Muslims. It's that gate-keepers are too busy greenlighting projects that either affirm their world view, or 1s that scream *see how patriotic and well-assimilated these Muslims r?* the diaspora is more complex and beautiful

Almost, Hollywood needs to be convinced that they can make _more_ money by not peddling stereotypes than they can peddling them. Until then, the stereotypes will continue to dominant.
