Unfortunately, she can't win. Trump will make the election about her ancestory (for which she ha never given a good answer), and the media and white-working class will eat it up.

That seems like an absurd criterion for “electability.” Do you think any of the candidates will not be subject to the same hypocritical scrutiny and name-calling?

They will be, but we just spent a year watching her respond to it in real time. It was painful. She's another candidate that liberal voters fall in love with but would spectacularly flame out like Dean, Mondale, McGovern.

Or Obama. Maybe instead we should entrust the future to centrist candidates. Like Hillary Clinton. John Kerry. Al Gore.

But yes, she moved through her initial responses woefully, demonstrating that she didn't even clearly understand some points of the criticism. Then she got it. And apologized in mindful, unambiguous terms. She's only accelerated momentum from then on.

Candidates can get better. Hey policy focus is impressive. Just skeptical she’s an agile enough political actor to win a national election. Think Bernie or Harris or Buttigieg have more of that skill. Will still support her if she’s the nominee.
