Anthropologist here, and I agree with Reza. Nothing new in this book. He's one of those guys that knows a *little bit* about a range of things, but tries to tie it all together into this giant story of everything. Academic work isn't this sexy, but it's more accurate.

I don't remember much about religion in it. That it's all a shared delusion, yes. But it seems like a social good, to me. And I think that's why Evans shared it.

As an avid reader of both you guys, I'm more of the same opinion about his third book: "21 lessons". As if successful authors feel the pressure to produce and along the way loose their creativity. All due respect, I loved "Zealot" but I think"God" suffers from the same problem.
